Return of the Pest

It is back...The buzz, the drone, the constancy, the presence.

That smile you hate so much...

That pep as if all were well with the world when in reality it is all crashing down...

That voice which refuses to quiet down...endless syllables rolling out...

That message you don't even want to open, apprehensive of what it might contain...another ray of light from a black hole sun...

That person who keeps popping up over and over again like a bad song stuck in your head and you can't get rid of...with an impractical, utopic, hopeless optimism for everything...to the point of driving you nuts with it...that amusingly strong belief in all things good...that cheeky faith...sometimes you wish you could have just wished it all away and been happy in the real world...

That Pest.

5 Thinkers Pondered:

If something qualifies as 'Pest', it should be treated accordingly. Take the deadliest and most effective pesticide and spray it on the 'pest'. It does not deserve this much space of the beautiful thoughts you have.
While you have that cruel sense of victory seeing the 'pest' lying upside down and fluttering its wings and legs and hopelessly fighting against imminent painful death; for those who escape this pesticide have no hesitation in crushing them hard under your heel. Get rid of it for once and ever.
If you cannot do that, think again whether it/he/that actually qualifies being called as 'pest'. And if it is there somewhere in between of being 'pest' and 'pet', better decide and as I said last time, "move on". Hope you find the peace with yourself.

There is too much left to the readers' imagination. I wish you would give a clue... I am dumb.. I am wondering what this pest refers to...

sometimes the constants in life are better than the variables :)

@Utsarg,

I really like the way you removed the 's' to make it pet...only time can tell if it is a pest or a pet but yes, move on is the message...thanks for the comment :)

@Sowmya,

The pest can refer to anything...a person, a thought that pesters you...and isn't of al writing to let the reader explore his imagination even while guiding him along? Thanks for the comment...

@Satish,

Long time! Good to see a comment from you after a while...means a lot...and I agree with what you say - better the known devil devil than the unknown angel...isn't that what they say also? Thank you so much for the comment :)
